Daulton James Reiter has been found guilty as charged of Burglary of a Dwelling, Unlawful Exposure of Sexual Organs, and Resisting without Violence. The jury returned the guilty verdict following a one-day trial in Lee County.
Assistant State Attorney Tom Guthrie and Deputy Chief Assistant State Attorney Abe Thornburg prosecuted the case.
The crime happened in Cape Coral. On May 14, 2024, a woman was standing in her kitchen doing dishes when she saw a man standing on her lanai, with his pants down, exposing himself. A witness who lived nearby saw the suspect go into a nearby trailer and believed it was the person who lived there and drove a motorcycle.
Cape Coral Police were called and quicky responded. Officers went to the trailer and as they did a man on a motorcycle, wearing a helmet, fled, refusing commands to stop. The investigation revealed his identity and the defendant was identified as the person who committed the crime and later arrested.
Sentencing is scheduled for July 21, 2025.
