Jorge Felix Delgado Fonseca was convicted of Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, following a two-day trial in Lee County.
Assistant State Attorney Ryan Pomponio prosecuted the case.
On November 5, 2023, the Cape Coral Police Department responded to a shooting on Skyline Boulevard. A victim was on the sidewalk, being treated by Emergency Medical Services and Cape Coral Fire Department personnel, for a gunshot wound to the thigh.
The victim said he had been arguing with his friend, later identified as the defendant. The argument escalated and the victim was shot.
The Cape Coral Police Department investigated the incident. The defendant was located in Miami, arrested, and transported back to Southwest Florida for trial.
Sentencing is scheduled for December 9, 2024.
