Human Trafficking Training

The State Attorney’s Office recently completed human trafficking training for all prosecutors in the 20th Judicial Circuit. The training focused on awareness of the Florida Statute, recognizing a potential human trafficking victim and then how to coordinate our efforts as they relate to prosecuting human trafficking cases.

Francine Donnorummo, Assistant State Attorney and Special Victims Unit Chief, provided the legal education for our prosecutors in compliance with the intent of the Legislature and Florida Statute.

“Our office works to make every effort to not only recognize human trafficking victims but to coordinate prosecution with other law enforcement agencies, both federal and state, as well as child advocacy centers,“ said Donnorummo.

The State Attorney’s Office 20th Judicial Circuit handles human trafficking cases that occur within our circuit but when the crime crosses state lines or into other circuits we coordinate with Federal prosecutors and the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
