David Anthony Flowers, 39, was sentenced to life in prison for crimes against a child. He was found guilty as charged of one count of Engaging in an Act Which Constitutes Sexual Battery Upon or With a Child 12 Years of Age or Older but Younger than 18 Years of Age by a Person in a Familial or Custodial Authority following a Lee County trial in November.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrested the defendant in December 2018 after investigating information they had received involving him sexually battering a child in Lehigh Acres.
The child victim came to court and watched as the Honorable Judge Margaret Steinbeck sentenced the defendant late Monday afternoon.
Assistant State Attorney Lindsay Garza prosecuted the case.
