Life in Prison for Crimes Against a Child

Miguel Pascual Diego, 38, of Fort Myers, was sentenced to life in prison for the crimes of Sexual Battery with a Child Less Than 12 Years of Age and Lewd or Lascivious Molestation.
He was found guilty in July following a trial in Fort Myers.

In July 2019, a child told her mother about a sexual assault and identified the defendant. The victim’s mother made contact with Diego and an argument ensued. The Fort Myers Police Department was called to the scene for Breach of Peace and the victim’s mother explained what she was told. An investigation began and Diego was arrested.

Assistant State Attorney Michael Curley and Assistant Felony Division Chief John Dommerich prosecuted the case.
