Life in Prison for Crimes Against a Child

Horacio Johnson, 39, of Cape Coral, was sentenced to life in prison immediately after being found guilty as charged of Sexual Battery – Victim Less than 12 Years of Age
and Lewd or Lascivious Molestation. He was also sentenced to 30 years in prison on count two. The jury returned the guilty verdict following a two-day trial in Lee County.

In 2019, the defendant coerced a child into sexual acts and then raped the child at a home in Cape Coral. The child reported the crime to an adult and the Cape Coral Police Department was contacted. Their investigation led to the arrest of the defendant.

Assistant State Attorney Christine Cummins and Assistant State Attorney Anastasia Snetkova prosecuted the case.
