This morning, Guillermo Garcia Hembree was sentenced to life in prison for both Sexual Battery Upon a Child Less than 12 Years of Age and Lewd or Lascivious Molestation. The sentences are to run concurrently. He was convicted in June, following a four-day trial in Lee County.
Assistant State Attorney Anastasia Snetkova prosecuted the case.
The defendant was arrested in March 2021 following an investigation by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation began after a young child disclosed to an adult about past occurred crimes perpetrated on them by the defendant.
Hembree was already a convicted sex offender for an offense that occurred in Georgia in 2005.
