Life in Prison for Murder

Today, Racine Raphael was adjudicated guilty and sentenced to life in prison for Second Degree Murder, for the murder of a woman in Naples.

Assistant State Attorney Deborah Cunningham, Collier County Circuit Court Chief, and Assistant State Attorney Lawrence Raab prosecuted the case.

On March 14, 2023, the family of the woman, asked a friend to check on her, because they had not heard from her. She was found at home, on the laundry room floor, apparently beaten to death. The Collier County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene and started an investigation.

It was determined that the defendant hit the victim with his fists and a metal bar. He had also stomped and kicked her. He fled prior to law enforcement arriving.

A warrant was issued for his arrest. He was pulled over for a traffic stop a few days later in Glades County. The defendant admitted to the crime during an interview with law enforcement.
