Murder Conviction

Sentencing is scheduled for February 28th for defendant Roscoe Randolph Jordan. Jordan was found guilty of Second-Degree Murder following a four-day trial in Lee County.

On Labor Day 2020, the victim was shot while standing in front of a convenience store on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, by the masked defendant. They had an argument about 15 minutes earlier. The defendant left the scene after the murder and returned, without a mask on, while Fort Myers Police Officers were on scene investigating. He was quickly arrested.

The murder was captured on video. Members of the community who were present at the scene testified. The jury returned the verdict Friday afternoon after deliberating for just under an hour.

Assistant State Attorney Brenda Wade, of the Homicide Unit, and Assistant State Attorney Leena Marcos prosecuted the case.
