Prison Sentence for Aggravated battery

James Otis Robinson III was adjudicated guilty and sentenced this morning, to 8 years in prison, followed by 5 years of probation, for Aggravated Battery Causing Great Bodily Harm. Robinson was found guilty in January following a trial in Lee County.

The crime happened on January 6, 2020. A delivery driver was attacked by a co-worker, who wanted to leave before the route was over. The defendant punched the victim twice, then threw her to the ground. He then began kicking her, before he ran away.

The victim sustained numerous injuries. The incident was captured on a security camera in the neighborhood. The Fort Myers Police Department handled the investigation.

Assistant State Attorney Olivia Ferrell and Lee County Circuit Court Chief, Assistant State Attorney Tyler Lovejoy, prosecuted the case.
