Prison Sentence for Crack Cocaine

Keith Michael Alape was sentenced to 5 years in prison, immediately after being convicted of Possession of a Controlled Substance. The jury returned the guilty verdict following a two-day trial in Lee County.

On March 15, 2023, two Fort Myers Police Officers saw the defendant walking in downtown Fort Myers, on Second Steet. The defendant had been identified as the suspect for a recent vehicle burglary, so the officers approached the defendant and placed him under arrest.

As he was searched, a torn off section of a grocery bag was found in the pocket of his jeans. A small white rock was wrapped inside and tested positive for crack cocaine. He was arrested on the warrant and then charged in the new drug case.

Assistant State Attorney Bryce Becker prosecuted the case.
