Prison Sentence in Attempted Murder Case

Pablo Luis Rodriguez was adjudicated guilty and sentenced today to 20 years in prison for Attempted Second Degree Murder with a Firearm. He was also sentenced to 15 years in prison for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. The sentences are to run concurrent.

The crime happened on January 11, 2022. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a shooting in the Harlem Heights community. The investigation determined an altercation had happened earlier in front of a residence and the defendant shot the victim in the face.

A witness, who was able to get the victim to the hospital immediately, was able to identify the vehicle of the shooter, leading to the identification and arrest of the defendant.

Assistant State Attorney Marilla Shoemaker prosecuted the case.
