Guilty of Sexual Battery

Rafael Nilo Lorenzo, 68, of Naples, has been found guilty as charged of one count of Sexual Battery. The jury returned the guilty verdict following a three-day trial in Collier
County.

The defendant was a maintenance worker for an apartment complex in Naples. He went into the victim’s apartment and forced himself on her in her kitchen. The victim’s family member arrived shortly after the attack and located the defendant, who then fled.

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene and found Lorenzo near a maintenance shed. He admitted to sexual activity with the victim and was subsequently arrested.

Assistant State Attorney Jennifer Brown and Assistant State Attorney Lawrence Raab prosecuted the case. Sentencing is scheduled for March 31, 2023.
