Sentenced for Perjury

Former bail bondsman Antonio Martinez, of Hendry County, pled guilty to the charge of Perjury in an Official Proceeding. It is a third degree felony.

He was sentenced to 30 months of state probation and required to permanently relinquish his license as a bondsman. Martinez must also pay a $500 fine.

The charge stemmed from a 2017 case in which Martinez, a witness, provided false testimony under oath in a deposition.

The case was handled by Assistant State Attorney Anthony Kunasek and Deputy Chief Assistant State Attorney Abe Thornburg.
