Sentencing in DUI Manslaughter Case

Osvaldo Rasziel Viveros, 26, was adjudicated guilty and sentenced, to eleven and a half years in prison, followed by three and a half years of probation, for one count of DUI Manslaughter.

In March of this year, the defendant was driving a Ford Mustang, when he swerved off the road, and crashed the car into a tree. The car then burst into flames. It happened near the intersection of Unice Avenue and 71 St. West, in Lehigh Acres.

The female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The Florida Highway Patrol investigated the crash. The defendant’s blood alcohol level was over the legal limit at the time of the crash.

Assistant State Attorney Martin Stark, of the State Attorney’s Office Homicide Unit, prosecuted the case.
