Sex Offender Sentenced to Prison

Matthew Ibel Del Valle was sentenced to 15 years in prison followed by 5 years of probation, after being convicted of four counts of Failure to Register as a Sexual Offender. He was sentenced immediately after the jury returned the guilty verdict following a two-day trial in Lee County.

Assistant State Attorneys Stephen Hawley and Christine Cummins prosecuted the case.

The crimes were committed between December 2024 and May 2025. The defendant is a sex offender and is required to update his physical address with law enforcement but instead gave a neighbor’s address. He also did not update his cell phone number or place of employment.
