Wrong Way Fatal Crash Leads to Prison Sentence

Today Dwayne Holiday was sentenced to 10.5 years in prison followed by 3 years of probation for one count of DUI Manslaughter. He also had his driver’s license suspended for life.

In June 2018, Holiday was going the wrong way on Ben C. Pratt Parkway in Lee County. He crashed his Nissan pick-up truck into a car killing the driver at about 2:30 in the morning. Holiday had a blood alcohol level of .180, twice the legal limit.

Holiday pleaded no contest as part of a plea agreement. Aside from his prison sentence and probation he has many other sanctions which include; a $1,000 fine, restitution to the family, court costs and DUI fines, and have drug and alcohol evaluation and counseling.
