Charlie Jackson was given three life in prison sentences after being found guilty of three counts of Sexual Activity with a Child. He was sentenced to an additional 15 years in prison for one count of Lewd/Lascivious Exhibition and 15 years for one count of Lewd/Lascivious Molestation. Jackson was sentenced as a Habitual Felony Offender and a Habitual Violent Felony Offender. He was found guilty following a three day trial in September, in Lee County, and was sentenced late yesterday afternoon.
Jackson was arrested in October 2017 after a child told someone she knew that he had been buying her expensive gifts in exchange for sexual acts. An investigation determined the child was telling the truth.
Assistant State Attorney Michael Colombo Jr., on behalf of the State Attorney’s Office, articulated the defendant’s danger to the community to the judge during sentencing. The defendant had previous convictions in Manatee County including sexual battery.
All of the sentences are consecutive.
