Donation to Children

Today staff from the State Attorney’s Office delivered more than 200 teddy bears to the children of Valerie’s House as part of a special toy drive done within the office. Valerie’s House, located
in Fort Myers, provides open-ended peer support groups and activities to children who have suffered through a significant loss in their life. Children ages 4-19 and their families are able to
work together to deal with the death of someone they love.

Victim’s Advocate Nancy Cruz led the charge to gather teddy bears for the children this holiday season. Each day, over the course of three weeks, employees brought in more stuffed animals.
The special delivery was dropped off today to help brighten the faces of the children during what for some is a tough time of year.

Valerie’s House is also now a resource for the State Attorney’s Office when helping to assist children impacted by the death of loved ones through crime.
