Today Kiereek Seymour, 28, was found guilty as charged of Resisting/Obstructing without Violence, DUI 2nd or More, and Fleeing to Elude a Law Enforcement Officer. He was also found guilty of the charge of No Valid Driver’s License following a trial in Collier County.
Seymour was arrested on Marco Island on December 31, 2014 following a police chase. A Marco Island police officer spotted an SUV driven by Seymour speeding across the S.S. Jolley Bridge onto Marco. After being chased, Seymour crashed his vehicle into a tree and then tried to escape by jumping into a canal and swimming away. He was found later in a garbage can at a nearby condominium complex by a K-9 unit.
Sentencing is scheduled for May 24th. Assistant State Attorney Sabsina Nunez and Assistant State Attorney Mara Marzano of our Homicide Unit prosecuted the case. Seymour has another case with a DUI Manslaughter charge still pending with our office.
