Robert Kenneth Benjamin, 36, was sentenced to life in prison following his November conviction of Sexual Activity with a Child, Sexual Battery on a Child Less than 12 years of Age and Battery in Lee County.
In March 2017, the victim came forward informing her family that for almost a year and a half the defendant had been having inappropriate sexual contact with her. She told a friend who convinced her to tell her family. When a controlled phone call was made to the defendant by the victim’s family working with law enforcement, he admitted to the abuse.
