Today, Hunter Michael Tyson, 24, was sentenced to 40 years in prison for his involvement in a murder in Fort Myers in July 2016.
Tyson pled no contest in a plea agreement to charges of Second Degree Murder, Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card, Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle, and Conspiracy to Commit Murder for his role in the killing of victim, Ted Lee, who was 58. The victim’s body was later found outside a church in Manatee County. Tyson was extradited back to Florida from Kansas where he was apprehended.
There are two co-defendants involved in the case. Their cases are still pending. Assistant State Attorneys Hamid Hunter and Mara Marzano of our Homicide Unit are assigned to the three cases.
