Sexual Activity With a Child Conviction

Charlie James Jackson, 36, faces life in prison after being found guilty as charged of three counts of Sexual Activity with a Child, one count of Lewd or Lascivious Molestation, and one count of Lewd or Lascivious Exhibition. The jury returned their conviction today following a three day trial in Lee County.

Between January and September 2017, the victim was sexually assaulted on multiple occasions and was also forced to perform sexual acts by the defendant. The abuse occurred between the time the victim was 12 and 13 years old.

In September 2017 the victim disclosed the abuse to a family friend and they contacted law enforcement.

Jackson’s sentencing is scheduled for October 29th. Assistant State Attorney Michael Colombo of our Special Victim’s Unit prosecuted the case.
