This afternoon, Shane O’Neal Puryear, 49, of Lehigh Acres, was sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty as charged with Sexual Battery on a Child Less Than 12 Years of Age. The victim was 6 years old.
The child was assaulted in November 2014 while the defendant was assisting the family in preparing for a Thanksgiving celebration.
Assistant State Attorney and Special Victim’s Unit Chief Francine Donnorummo and Assistant State Attorney Agnieszka Osowicka of the Special Victim’s Unit prosecuted the case during the 4 day trial in Lee County.
