Today, Malcolm Lamar Porter, 29, was sentenced to 30 years in prison for Battery and Sexual Battery with Threat of Force as a Prison Releasee Reoffender. He was found guilty of the charges in December following a two day trial in Lee County.
In March 2017, Porter told the victim that there was a snake loose in the Lehigh Acres home. It was late at night so she called 911 for help finding the snake. Porter then came up behind the victim, choking her until she lost consciousness momentarily. The victim fell to the ground where he sexually battered her.
The victim was able to escape by running outside to safety when Lee County Sheriff deputies pulled up to the home to respond to the call about the snake.
Assistant State Attorney Heather Searcy of our Special Victims Unit and Assistant State Attorney Stephanie Russell prosecuted the case.
