Three Life Sentences for Sex Crimes Against a Child

Blaine Edward Williams, 57, of Cape Coral, will spend the rest of his life in prison for crimes against a child. Today the defendant was sentenced to three life sentences for two counts of Sexual Battery on a Child Less than 12 Years of Age and one count of Lewd or Lascivious Molestation. He also was sentenced to 15 years in prison for one count of Lewd or Lascivious Battery. Williams received the maximum sentence on all counts and all counts will be served concurrently.

Williams was convicted of the charges following a three day trial in Lee County this May. Assistant State Attorney Natalie Savino of our Special Victim’s Unit and Assistant State Attorney Erin Hughes prosecuted the case.

Between 2007 and 2013 Williams sexually abused, molested, and raped the victim in Lee County. The abuse started when the victim was approximately 6 years old and continued until she was 12 years old. She reported the abuse in 2016 to a school guidance counselor who then reported it to Lee County Sheriff’s deputies.

The victim, who testified during trial, was present for today’s sentencing and gave a statement to the court.
